Inspired by an incident from the filmmaker's childhood, Breath captures a moment during a summer's day of play between two young girls. Curiosity and innocence become a liability when one child's fate depends on the other's response to a dangerous accident.
Conceived in spring of 2000, and filmed in August, Breath completed post-production in May of 2001. Breath marks the directorial debut of Ron McDougall, an aspiring filmmaker living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
